2009 ISDE

I will be one of three racing on Team USA/Desert MC at the 2009 International Six Days Enduro (ISDE). This is truly a dream come true for me! I am one of only 34 riders who were selected to represent the USA. We will have the opportunity to race against talented riders from over 30 countries in a race often referred to as the "Olympics of Off-Road Motorcycling."
The ISDE event is one of the most prestigious motorcycle competitions in the world and is said to be a true test of both rider and bike. The race consists of 6 consecutive days of riding that will be a total of approximately 750 miles. All riders must personally service and repair their bike themselves, including tire changing.
Over the past few years I have been participating in AMA ISDE Qualifiers. In 2005, I entered my first ISDE Qualifier, which was held in Idaho City, Idaho. In 2007, I went to Colorado and Idaho to participate in the ISDE Qualifiers. In 2008, I made my biggest journey (at that point in my life) to participate in the New Jersey ISDE Qualifier (I also participated in the Idaho City event). This year I participated in both the Missouri and Idaho Qualifiers... and after all my hard work and dedication, I made it on the Team!
This year's ISDE race is taking place October 12-17, 2009, in and around Figueira da Foz on the central coast of Portugal. This will truly be an experience of a lifetime!

FUNDRAISING
Riders are required to pay for all fees and expenses, which includes the entry fee, FIM license fee, insurance fee, tour package, airfare, meals, support fee, bike rental, tires, spare parts for bike, etc. I am estimating it to cost between $15,000-$17,000. I know with the current economic situation, people may not have extra money to donate towards my expenses, but for anyone that does have a little money they could donate, I would greatly appreciate the support.
